Joe Payne- Vocals, Guitar, Slide Guitar, Harmonica & Song-Writer
Chris Trimblett- Vocals, Piano, Organ, Guitar, Sax, Trumpet, Song-Writer & Producer

The Payne Brothers Band of Florida is one of the south’s finest original bands and has played continuously for over 30 years. Their sound is a unique blend of blues, rock and jazz that comes directly out of the experience of living in America’s delta southlands. Beginning with the musical traditions of Louis Armstrong and Muddy Waters on thru to Ray Charles and the Allman Brothers, the Band builds on these firm roots in ways that reflect today’s changing world and times.

The Payne family moved to Florida from Missouri when the four brothers and their sisters were all still children. From the beginning, music meant a celebration of life to the boys, who enjoyed coming up with entertaining songs. With Gene on vocals and percussion, Joe on vocals, slide guitar, guitar and harmonica, Larry on vocals and guitar, and Gary on vocals and bass, the brothers all contributed their talents to create their own special sound with an energy that filled the air in ways that only years of playing sweet music together with your family can forge.

Sadly, Gene passed away in 2014. Soon after, Larry and Gary went their separate ways from Joe, who remains a core member of the band.

Chris Trimblett joined the Payne Brothers as a vocalist, song writer and piano player in 2000. Over the years, Chris added his expertise to the band playing a variety of other instruments as well.

Chris was born in Newark, New Jersey to a family whose love of music and song were a big part of everyday life, much as it was with the Payne’s. Some of Chris’ diverse experiences prior to joining the Payne Brothers Band include performing with the Cab Calloway Orchestra, comedian Sam Kinison and he was a member of the Atlantic City Expressway with singer Jon Bon Jovi. He produced recordings for German pop singer Krisha, harpist Verlon Eason, and Molly Hatchet guitarist Duane Roland. In addition to writing and performing, Chris serves as the producer and engineer on the Payne Brothers Band recordings.

Music is a sacred gift for which the Payne Brothers are eternally thankful. Centered on the cathartic and universal themes of blues and love, there is truth in their music and it resonates in the soul.

Even though core members have changed over the years, the Payne Brothers sound better now than ever. Joe and Chris have deep expertise in a variety of instruments and the rich vocal harmonies they deliver with their powerful bluesy voices remain intact and unmatched. They continue to add to an extensive and seemingly endless, original song catalog.

That's what you get when you keep the focus on the music for so long. You get the Payne Brothers.
